Gratitude for Our Donors

Once again, our beloved donors have brought us to the finish line of our 2024 Annual Appeal. We met our goal in individual donations, which supports the work we are doing to steward community-controlled permanently affordable housing. We cannot thank you enough.

Welcoming 57 New Sustainer Members

This year, our Annual Appeal included a special campaign to recruit 50 new Sustainer Members – community members who sign up as BNCLT members and commit to giving a recurring donation. Again – you all did not fail to disappoint, and we brought on 57 new Sustainer Members, unlocking a $5,000 match from Resource Organizing Project. This group holds a special place in our heart: in multiple ways, you make a long term commitment to support our work and hold us accountable. Thank you.

It’s not too late to sign up here. We are cooking up some special swag for our Sustainer Members – stay tuned.

Appreciating Another Year of CITC Donors

We extend our heartfelt thanks to another special group of donors – those who made a donation of $1,000 or more and got 50% back in the form of CITC tax credits. The large gifts made by our CITC donors have an important impact by allowing us to build and sustain the capacity we need to take on the breadth of tasks we face every day. The CITC is a great gift to our organization, and helps our donors leverage their contributions by getting 50% back through the credit — this, along with our Sustainer Member campaign, allows us to incrementally grow our individual donations in pace with our own growth. Since the program has worked so well, we will be applying for additional credits in 2025. We are so appreciative to receive these donations from many of you!

Grateful for Our Acquisition Donors

Finally,This state program has worked amazingly for us for 2 years, and we will be applying for additional credits in 2025. we give deep appreciation to our acquisition donors, who collectively contributed $130,000 to get us to the finish line in our acquisition of 364 Harvard Street. Thanks to you, we were able to purchase a building where tenants Yvette Moore and Shaundah Henderson have been fighting to stay put for over a year. We are grateful to you, and to all the partners who helped us reach this meaningful milestone.

Donor Spotlight: Anne Bromer

We are delighted to celebrate another star in our universe: Anne Bromer! We will do a feature piece about Anne in an upcoming newsletter, but we give to Anne a giant Valentine today for the amazing ways she has supported our community!  Over the years she has given BNCLT a tremendous amount of funding to help us acquire occupied buildings, attend to building upgrades so that our residents will feel happy and comfortable; and support our core work. She is a source of inspiration and generosity. Anne gives so much to make sure people find beauty and safety where they live, and if you ever have a chance to meet her, you will see how she radiates her enthusiasm. Anne’s most recent gift of $100,000 will be used for building improvements this spring and summer that add joy to our residents. Happy Valentine’s Day, Anne!
