City Celebrates 1,000th AOP-Funded Unit at Our Property!

At the event, BNCLT’s newest resident Yvette Moore, who fought to stay in this building with the support of City Life/Vida Urbana, explained:

We began the struggle. We had fightings, and many struggles, and many plans, and many strategies. But we didn’t give up. And so what I’m trying to tell everybody is not to give up, because right now, during this time when it is a housing crisis, and many are being displaced, and many want to give up [...] it’s hard. But you cannot give up. During this time of gentrification, we thank BNCLT, that’s able to buy the place so we’re able to stay here for the rest of our life, and we’re able to make things happen. We don’t have to worry that anything’s going to go higher, the notice to quit stuff we had. [...] We paved the way for others, so that others can be able. We are thankful for BNCLT, [...] that we’re able to make this happen. And that me and my neighbor and our families can be able to live without having to worry. All that is over.
