Placing Park Street

To celebrate the springtime and build community, we are having a series of events on the vacant lot at 381 Park Street. The residents of Park Street are collaborating with public artists John Ewing and Anthony Romero to develop artistic plans for the vacant lot spaces that will lead up to a visioning session for the future uses of two vacant lots on the street, with support from the New England Foundation for the Arts "Collective Imagination for Spatial Justice" grant. We are having an upcoming Spring potluck on Saturday April 23rd from 1-3, and we also plan to construct a garden bed and a stage for performances, leading up to a summer event on June 12th. Other ideas that are circulating include movie nights, paint events, workshops, presentations by local artists and activists, art classes, and an outdoor gallery of neighbor arts. The plans for the summer are evolving as the project unfolds, so stay tuned for more updates.
