Our First In-Person Annual Meeting
A month ago on October 4th, BNCLT hosted our first in-person Annual Meeting, “Fitting Together One Piece at a Time” at First Parish Church in Dorchester.
Residents, neighbors, and supporters gathered around delicious food cooked by our extraordinary board member and caterer Eric Boyd. Meanwhile, our emcees Erica Schwarz and Eric (in yet another role!) guided the group through an icebreaker, and a slideshow of the year’s memories and accomplishments. Five residents and board members, carrying large puzzle piece poster boards, highlighted BNCLT’s main focus areas — our zero carbon energy retrofit, the evolution and growth of our organization and operations, our “prosperity pathway” to support residents and community members to build assets, our policy progress as part of the Greater Boston Community Land Trust Network, and our efforts to foster community engagement and control at BNCLT and in our neighborhoods. Together, this demonstration visualized how the organization works to “fit the pieces together.”
The night continued with music by Derek Boyd (D-Rock), board member term renewals, our membership program launch, opportunities to take action, and an interactive puzzle-themed activity. And finally, we all ate Eric’s cupcakes frosted in BNCLT’s branding colors!
Thank you to all who joined and made the night a wonderful success. We are so grateful to have you in our community.
Thank you also to all of our institutional donors and event sponsors:
