The BNCLT’s acquisition of 6 Humphreys Place is making headlines— check out this article in the Dorchester Reporter describing the fight for housing justice at 6 Humphreys Place.

The article celebrates the fact that “instead of being faced with steep rent increases or even redevelopment, residents of the six-unit building near Uphams Corner will live under a form of ownership with community control, in cooperation with the Boston Neighborhood Community Land Trust.”

We are so excited about this victory—this represents a new beginning for the 6 Humphreys Place residents who have joined our community land trust and are now living in permanently affordable homes. Read the article to learn more about the history of this property and the perspectives of the tenants.
