Contribute Property

Help Us Grow By Contributing Land & Housing

We are very interested in working with home owners to consider approaches for moving their property onto the Land Trust.  This can happen in a variety of ways:

You could donate your land to BNCLT, but continue to live in your home.  In this scenario, BNCLT would own the ground lease, and would set the terms for future sale and use of the house to include affordability terms.  This would enable the owner to reduce their property taxes by separating the land from the building.  It would also bestow a gift to the community by assuring permanent affordability, and taking this property off the speculative market.

You could also sell both land and home to the CLT at a below-market rate. Similar to above, this would achieve significant community benefit by taking the property off the speculative market, and establishing long term affordability.  BNCLT would then have the option of selling the property at an affordable rate to a new home owner.

Another option is to gift the proceeds or partial proceeds of the sale to BNCLT to support the organization and future acquisitions.

Please contact BNCLT to initiate this conversation, explore legal options, and establish shared goals and plans.

Acquisition Fund

To grow this movement, we know we need to build innovative structures that will allow us to take community control and community ownership to scale. That is why we are in the development phase of an acquisition fund for bringing new properties into the Community Land Trust.
